Original questions, and an explanation worth reading
Every question is written from the provider’s published exam guide and reviewed before it is published. Nothing here is recalled from a real exam, and nothing here is a brain dump — those are worthless for learning and getting caught with them costs people their certification.
What makes an explanation useful is not restating the right answer. It is telling you why the option you picked looked right and was not. Every option carries its own reasoning, with a link to the documentation it came from.
How questions are written and reviewedA company runs a reporting application on a single EC2 instance. The reports are generated overnight and the application is idle for the rest of the day. Interruptions are acceptable provided the job finishes before 07:00. Which purchase option gives the lowest cost?
The workload is interruption-tolerant and runs in a window with slack in it, which is exactly the shape Spot is priced for — up to 90% below On-Demand. Reserved Instances and Savings Plans bill for a whole term regardless of use, so paying for 24 hours a day to run a job for three is more expensive than On-Demand, not less.
